It’s the beginning of Oscar week on RvR. And who better to kick it off with than perrenial Oscar-botherer George Clooney. Don’t expect to see any golden statuettes in this piece, however, as Ross McD remembers the bad times on Phantom’s Cinerama radio show. Listen to the list after the jump… Continue reading

Posted in BLOG POST OF THE WEEK with tags blog, Blogs, Movies, Oscar, Oscars on February 18, 2011 by Ross McGWe’re going to cheat a little on today’s Blog Post Of The Week and give you a double helping, even if both posts come from the same blog. And what a blog it is. We Rosses thought we were the coolest movie-blogging duo in town until we happened across the CyniCritics, where the writings of Matt and Luke (presumably Mark and John spread their own movie gospel elsewhere) are a regular treat for us. Like a lot of us out there, the boys have caught Oscar fever this week and have each compiled a rundown of who will win what, but more importanly, who should win what. The great thing about both their lists is that I find myself agreeing and disagreeing with them in equal measure. Get over there and give your own opinion. To read Matt’s list click HERE and to read Luke’s list click HERE. Let the guys know what you think. Continue reading

Besides us, there’s those aliens out there, making the worst attempt ever to take over the planet. ‘I haven’t had a flood of scripts since my Oscar’ – the Jeff Bridges interview
Posted in INTERVIEWS with tags Jeff Bridges, Movies, The Big Lebowski, The Coen Brothers, True Grit on February 8, 2011 by Ross McGThey don’t come much bigger than this. He is up for a potential second Best Actor Oscar in a row later this month for his performance in True Grit, but to most of us, Jeff Bridges is simply The Dude. And he just managed to find time last week to have a chat with Ross McG, talking about his Beatles moment, Colin Firth’s Oscar chances and The Big Lebowski 2. To read the interview, click HERE or the image above. Let us know what you think of the interview in the comments. Continue reading
