The Grinch v The Nightmare Before Christmas

grinch v nightmare before christmasThey both look more at home at Halloween, but these two grim looking fellows are actually unlikely Christmas heroes. They both want to steal it, but there’s only one for the taking. To read this battle we’ve done for Metro.co.uk, click HERE or on the image above.

  1. I’m with the Ross that is McD on this one. The Grinch is a hands-down, tinsel-coated classics and Jim Carey is a hoot – love the scene where
the Grinch and the terrified little girl are in an out-of-control sleigh careering towards disaster and the Grinch turns and says: ‘Cindy, we may be horribly mangled, but there’ll be no sad faces on Christmas.’ The Nightmare Before Christmas – that’s the one about the scrawny dead puppet with rickets, yeah? How festive…

  2. I have never seen The Grinch but love The Nightmare Before Christmas, what more is there to say!

  3. Have to go with the Nightmare Before Christmas as well – Carrey gives it socks (as he gives pretty much everything socks) – but I think Nightmare is quite possibly the most amazing piece of stop-motion animation ever made.

Plus the songs and the Danny Elfman score. “What’s This?” is one of my favourite Christmas songs

“There’s children throwing snowballs – instead of throwing heads,
They’re busy building toys and absolutely no one’s dead.
There’s frost in every window – oh, I can’t believe my eyes!
    And in my bones I feel the warmth that’s… coming… from… inside…”

    “What’s this?”

  4. I like both. I must say though, I’m glad someone else likes The Grinch. It’s really hated in some circles, but as Daragh says Carey is a hoot.

  5. I have to go with the Nightmare Before Christmas 😉
