Hook v Pirates of the Caribbean

Posted in BATTLES with tags , , , , , , , , on March 7, 2011 by rossvross

Pirates… they’re not as fun as they used to be. Instead of yo-ho-ho-ing, singing sea shanties, drinking barrels of rum and inexplicably burying treasure instead of spending it, pirates now prefer actually kidnapping and killing people off the coast of Somalia. At least they’re still a bit of craic on screen. The Rosses take a Long John look at the silver screen’s best buccaneers. Click HERE or the pic above to read this battle at Metro Film Fight Club. This time we’re gonna have a look at what is considered the gold standard of Dinosaur movies (No not the land before time, which I believe should be banned forever), Jurassic Park! Read more »

Jaws v Jurassic Park

Thanks to a recent excellent cinematic documentary, we now know who would win in a fight between a Mega Shark and a Giant Octopus. Sadly, with 65 million years separating them, we may never know who would win in a fight between a shark and a dinosaur. But with a little help from Steven Spielberg, the Rosses make their cases. Posted in TOP FIVES with tags , , , , , on June 16, 2010 by Ross McG

Remember when I promised this list to you a while back when doing the best Tom Cruise singing scenes? Well, I wasn’t kidding. Okay, I was, but now we’ve run out of ideas for Top Fives. With The Cruiser all set to go sprinting again this summer in spy-com Knight And Day, now is as good a time as any to check out his best dashes. Read more »

RvReprieve: Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Posted in REPRIEVES with tags , , , , on May 6, 2010 by Ross McG

We like nothing better here at RvR than a new series. And we also like giving unfairly derided movies a second chance. All we want you to do is tell us whether or not they deserve it or not. To kick off our new Reprieve feature Ross McG is going to plead the case for one of the most hated blockbusters in recent memory. Does Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull merit a fairer crap of Indy’s whip?
